I am from the Republic of Sierra Leone, West Africa; a second year student of the SUNX Malta Climate Friendly Travel (CFT) post graduate Diploma course at the Institute of Tourism Studies, Malta, and presently on an internship in my home country. Prior to this I hold a Master Degree in Development Management, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Languages (French and English) and Sociology and Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management. . For over six years now I have been instrumental in the governance and Management of the Sierra Leone Tourism Industry. In my position as a Senior Tourist Officer and a Climate Change and Environment Focal Person in the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, I have attended several climate change related training and conferences including the COPs of the UNFCCC. With funds from GEF and through our country’s UNDP office, we implemented a project on the mitigation and adaptation of Climate Change effects .
